About Alarm Click

What Alarm Click is

Alarm Click is a collection of free, browser-based time tools: an online alarm clock, a countdown timer, a stopwatch, a world clock, and about sixty more specialised timers and calculators for the kitchen, the classroom, the gym and the office. Every tool opens instantly, needs no account and stores its settings only on your own device.

The site launched in March 2026 and is built and maintained by an independent developer. It is a personal project, not a company product, which is why it stays small, fast and free of sign-up walls.

Why it exists

Most alarm and timer apps ask you to install something, create an account, or sit through a splash screen before you can set a five-minute timer. We wanted the opposite: a page you can open on any device, use in three seconds, and close. Everything on Alarm Click runs inside your browser with standard web technology (JavaScript, the Web Audio API and local storage), so there is nothing to install and nothing to update.

How the tools are built

  • Client-side only. Alarms, timers and calculators run on your device. Once a page has loaded it keeps working even if your connection drops.
  • Sounds are generated, not downloaded. Alarm tones are synthesised with the Web Audio API, so pages stay light and there are no audio files to buffer.
  • Settings stay local. Your last alarm time, chosen sound, theme and language are saved in your browser's local storage. We never see them.
  • Accurate timing. Countdowns are computed from timestamps rather than by counting ticks, so a background tab or a busy phone does not make the timer drift.
  • Accessible by default. Large touch targets, keyboard support, a dark and a light theme, and right-to-left layout for Arabic.

Languages

Alarm Click is available in 16 languages: English, Turkish, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Vietnamese. We would rather ship fewer languages than ship half-translated pages, which is why several languages were retired in 2026. If you spot an awkward phrase in your language, tell us.

How we make money

The site is free to use and always will be. It is supported by unobtrusive display advertising. There are no premium tiers, no locked features and no "pro" upsells. We do not sell data, because we do not collect any worth selling: see the privacy policy for the details.

Editorial guides

Alongside the tools we publish short, practical guides on the things people use them for: how long a power nap should be, how to run a Pomodoro session, how to boil an egg to the exact doneness you like, and how time zones actually work. Where a guide cites a number, it is taken from published research or from primary sources, and we say so in the text.
